I throw up in my mouth at all the vintage stereo equipment and big speakers that are lost that way……….

It’s not like the city of Toronto hasn’t come up with funny PSAs in the past. Remember the “keep our lake clean” ads with the nutty scientists?

This one, however, is the best so far.

Omg ‘/’ is not a backslash

It’s nice to see that City of Toronto is now collecting electronics, but I would like to know what happens to them after that. Are the electronics efficiently & safely recycled by responsible facilities, or do they get shipped overseas for improper “recycling” like most e-waste? This makes a big difference for me, since the latter is both environmentally costly & a health hazard to those who recycle the items.

You guys aren’t serious right? These commercials are annoying; almost more then Spence Diamonds … Not to mention there are companies who will PAY you for your old electronics … You may think this is saving the world but all it’s doing is wasting tax payers money.

@hmsvicky I found that the “Backslash” fit perfectly with everything else they did lol
The mixed up shirts (Want it We!)
    and the SPEAKERS. SPEAKERS. SPEAKERS!!
or better when they point at us for the “we” part and then at themselves for the “your” part

    BRILLIANT.

wow! glad to see that city hall doesn’t yake itself too seriously — other sectors of this stiffy establishment could learn a thing or two about connecting with iys citizenry :)

  11. ibeleaf Says:

OH MY GOD HE SAID BACKSLASH GOD NO!!!!

  12. alphabus Says:

@sjcrw that’s why you pay the recycling fees – so that the city can provide the service.

  13. NWforager Says:

what is done with the old electronics there? in Seattle area it takes an act of God to find places like this . I think Goodwill does it a few times a year and other places that do take this stuff keep it under wraps and don’t advertise it ,cause they get a tax write-off but don’t want to do crap.

As soon as oil /plastic is scarce ,more cities will be also screaming “We Want it !!” ,but by then they’ll be competing with the private sector and poop out of luck.
