Lights, Camera, Action: Colorado Students Invited to Compete in PSA Contest and Help Prevent Dangerous Driving

McDivitt Makes A Difference is a year‐round program that encompasses all the law firm’s community efforts.

Entering its fifth year, McDivitt Law Firm’s annual public service announcement (PSA) contest is kicking off this spring by asking students to create videos about the dangers of risky driving. The law firm is expanding the contest from Southern Colorado to include high school students in Denver.

“As lawyers, we make our community safer by taking action on behalf of our clients,” said attorney Mike McDivitt, founder of McDivitt Law Firm. “Likewise, the PSA contest encourages our young people to take action and speak out about a safety issue that matters to us all.”

PSA Contest Details

High school students (grades 9 to 12) in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo, Colorado, may enter videos about safe driving and how to prevent problems such as distracted driving, lack of seatbelt use, and impaired driving. Entries will be judged on students’ abilities to analyze and address the topic and produce a quality video.

The contest winner will choose between a:

Laptop computer with movie-making software
$ 1,500 gift card

The winning student’s school also will receive a monetary donation, and the winning PSA will be aired on local television.

Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
